On the evening of 21 September, Anita and Jeannie of the CLT Boland Project gave a presentation to members of the Helderberg branch of WESSA (Wildlife and Environment Society of South Africa).  The talk went very well, and we would like to thank the members for being such an enthusiastic, appreciative and generous audience.  WESSA has also sponsored a camera trap in the past - something for which we are always very grateful.

WESSA is the oldest conservation body in South Africa and is celebrating 85 years of "Caring for the Earth" this year.  The Cape Leopard Trust has close ties with WESSA and there is a history of mutual support between these two environmental NGO’s.  WESSA’s work falls into six thematic areas: biodiversity, energy, Legislative Compliance, Voluntary Social Change, waste and water.  They are involved in a number of initiatives like Coast Watch, Eco-Schools, the Mondi Wetlands Programme and the Blue Flag beach programme.  Please visit http://wessa.org.za/ to learn more about WESSA and how to become involved in this very worthwhile cause.
