Leopard crossing, Uitkyk Cederberg

Published: 07 May 2012

Lumondt Kritzinger and his family spent a long weekend in Uitkyk cottage in the Cederberg at the end of April 2012. While driving on the winding dirt tracks they stumbled across a leopard crossing the road, 1.6 km away from their cottage. Lumondt’s son Luke spotted the leopard in some bushes a short while later and the family watched the animals for some time before it disappeared.

The family named the leopard ‘Luke’, a fitting name for a stunning animal!

If you have experienced a leopard sighting in one of our study areas, please let us know about it! If you were lucky enough to take photographs of the animal, please send these through too, as we will use these to hopefully identify the leopard. Send all sighting details [email protected].
