Education and Outreach Programme

The Cape Leopard Trust's Education and Outreach Programme began in 2009. Elizabeth Martins (neé Bond) co-ordinates the programme, which is primarily aimed at children, providing them with quality experiences that teach them more about the wilderness and themselves.

The Cape Leopard Trust Education and Outreach Programme is supported by the National Lottery Distribution Trust Fund through a three year grant, much of which is going towards sponsored educational camps.

Camps

The Cape Leopard Trust camps are educational adventures based on outdoor learning through hands-on experiences. The lessons are fun-filled activities which get learners back in to nature, looking at many aspects of biodiversity in the Cederberg Mountains of the Western Cape. Day trips

The Cape Leopard Trust Education and Outreach Programmes also offers education day trips for school learners based in the Cape Town metropolitan area. We have a variety of exciting and educations day trips on offer, and will happily create a bespoke experience for your students.

Presentations

The Cape Leopard Trust is offering to do presentations at schools, public facilities, clubs and organisations. The content of the presentations will be the intriguing life of the threatened Cape mountain leopard, the general work of the Project and issues around human-wildlife conflict.

Sponsors

The Education Programme is heavily reliant on external funding for operating costs and project expenditure. Major expenses include the sponsored camps for less-privileged learners and equipment for camp activities. As such, the Education project has assembled a wish list of items required for the project.
