A Big Thank You to The Epic Leopard Warriors on Wheels

Published: 06 April 2017

Nursing sore muscles after eight dusty days in the saddle, nine riders successfully completed the 2017 Absa Cape Epic in support of the Cape Leopard Trust.

The Cape Leopard Trust is proud to be one of 4 official charities linked to the event. It was a tough race this year and not for the faint hearted, with the distance of the second stage reduced considerably due to extreme heat. In a state of euphoria and exhaustion, some of the riders still managed to come an meet us in person at the  Grand Finale to be presented with a special leopard gift bag.

We would like to thank each of the following big hearted cyclists for putting themselves on the line to participate in the world's toughest mountain bike race in aid of leopard conservation:

  • Matthew and Graham McCollum
  • George Dimopoulos
  • David Knee
  • Joan Gimbernat
  • Chris Calimano
  • Marc Grau
  • Victor Carreras
  • Erik Mayol

James Edwards didn't make it this year, but has promised to return in 2018!
