International CLT Researcher Seeking Lodging

Published: 13 June 2014

To all of our enthusiastic project supporters out there – we will soon have a new addition to

the CLT family this year. Laurel Serieys is a post-doctoral student from the USA. Based with the University of Stellenbosch she will be leading an urban caracal study sponsored by The Cape Leopard Trust in the Cape Town and Boland region. She is seeking subsidized or sponsored accommodation in the South Peninsula areas or Southern suburbs – something small with some space for equipment storage, and a place to park a CLT vehicle.

Her research in Cape Town will focus on tracking caracal to study how urbanization affects caracal behavior and genetic health. This exciting research will help us identify critical threats to caracal, and other carnivores, in the Cape.

If you are able to help or have an interest in being supportive of this research, please contact Dr. Laurel Serieys ([email protected]) or Helen Turnbull ([email protected]

). You can also go to www.Urbancarnivores.com to learn more about what Laurel has been up to back in the USA.
