New shoes for the CLT's enviro-clubs

At the end of last year the National Lottery Distribution Trust Fund (NLDTF) pledged huge support to the Cape Leopard Trust’s Environmental Education and Outreach Programme, amounting to over R1,3 million over the next three years.

One of the approved items budgeted for was a selection of hiking boots for the children who participate in the Cederberg enviro-clubs and camps to use. Many of these children have only one pair of shoes, or completely the wrong kind of shoes to be exploring the mountains in. With this in mind, the NLDTF have provided the funding for a supply of appropriate shoes to be purchased, for use during CLT activities.

In order to maximise the impact of this purchase, we approached Hi-Tec who generously offered to support us with below-cost price for their great children’s hiking boots, Multiterra.

The children from the Dwarsrivier School in the Cederberg were thrilled to be the first to try them out. It was very gratifying seeing them properly prepared for the environmental exploration that they love so much.

Our sincere thanks goes to both the NLDTF and Hi-Tec for their important support.
