On a cool autumn afternoon in the Cederberg, over 150 special friends gathered at the Nuwerus Rest Camp for an informal celebration of The Cape Leopard Trust's 10th anniversary. The day started with a choice of conservation based group activities including fossil finding and a Karoo plant meander, a rock art recce, a hike to the spectacular Wolfberg Arch or a leopard tracking bundu bash with the research experts themselves.
After a short breather, guests were treated to a wonderful potjie supper and entertainment.
Dr Quinton Martins shared the challenges, joys and the people that have been part of his incredible journey, followed by music and entertainment. The rain disappeared, and though we couldn't quite see the stars in the sky, each of the guests were specially invited as an acknowledgement of the support they have given to the trust over the last ten years, and they are stars in their own right. A fantastic evening was had by all.
